Ms. McGehee's second graders recently published their All about Books. They decided to share with their writing buddies in Mrs. Anderson's kindergarten class.
It looks like the writers had a lot of fun sharing the writing topics that they care about and already know a lot about. These young authors are busy celebrating publication and the power of partnerships!
Spring Creek students recently celebrated Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss's birthday by reading and writing all throughout the campus. Mrs. Hugghin's fourth graders met with Mrs. Smith's second graders to read their books about historical figures in America.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Moore's first grade class wrote their very own rhyming books in honor of the great Dr. Seuss. Students were filled with the excitement of reading!
The Kindergartners in Mrs. Clark's class and the First graders in Mrs. Shafer's class were eager to share their favorite pattern books with their Third grade writing buddies. The students in Mrs. Barrett's and Ms. Knowles' class were a perfect audience! Several of these Kindergarten writers will be featured in the library author corner as well. Way to go authors!
We are so very thankful for our writing partnerships here at Spring Creek! The students in Mrs. Bradham's first grade class and the kindergartners in Ms.Kahan's class are certainly grateful to have their writing buddies.
Just look at the all the sharing of books happening between Mrs. Anderson's kindergartners and Ms. McGehee's second graders! It looks like some great conversations are taking place as well. It is such a special time for all these writers!
Ms. Knowles third graders and Mrs. Shafer's first graders recently celebrated their writing by sharing in partnerships. It means so much to these young writers to have a friendly reader to share with. This was the first meeting of the class partnership, and it certainly won't be the last!
Mrs. Bradham's first grade class met with Mrs. Moore's class to read their Nonfiction Research books. Each writer gathered research and included important text features to their books. What a great way to share all that interesting information!
Mrs. Penick's second grade writers met up with the second graders in Ms. Griffith's class to share their "All About" books. Everyone had a wonderful time listening to the authors share their books. It's such a powerful thing for writers and readers to come together!

Ms. Watson's and Ms. Griffith's second grade class met again with their kindergarten partners . This time, the second graders read their informational books to Mrs. Silvey's and Mrs. Clark's kindergarten class. Each reader stopped to explain the different text features that were included in their book. Then, the kindergartners shared their books with the second graders. What a great way to share as writers!
Ms. Kahan's kindergartners and Ms. McGehee's second graders met last week to share their published books. This is the second time this writing partnership has met, and you can really see the relationships forming between these young writers. What an impact these students are having on each other as they read and confer as published authors!
